Impressing fresh plants into clay is nothing complex. I hope, however, that the refinements I have made to the technique over the years, my use of fine porcelain, subtle glazing and ability to pick out detail, combined with the sensitive treatment of a subject that I love, manages to elevate the work to somewhere special.

Fresh plants are picked in season, they need to be in full heart,  dry and not too bulky to make a good impression.

Late Summer Garland

This piece was a version inspired by the Cotehele Garland. I used Cosmos, Hydrangea, and Cow Parsley, aiming for  a flowing, balanced, loose structure.
